In 1987, Murray Martin laid the foundation for Marspan, a dream that comes from the simplest of origins. Originally set on a path towards hog farming, Murray's destiny took a turn when he lent a hand in reconstructing a barn, igniting a passion for crafting trusses. From humble beginnings within the walls of an old bank barn, Marspan's roots began to spread, gradually expanding its horizons despite facing initial pushback from local competitors. By venturing into the realm of selling building materials in 1989, Marspan took a bold step forward. A defining moment arrived when they sold the patent rights for a truss press to a U.S. company, providing a much-needed financial boost.
